The Nasdaq index filled with technology stocks led Wall Street higher at the open, Tuesday, as lower US Treasury yields boosted technology stocks, while investors awaited more economic data to gauge the path of an interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose at the open 335.78 points, or 1.14 percent, to 29,826.67 points. The Standard & Poor’s 500 opened up 48.03 points, or 1.31 percent, to 3,726.46 points, while the Nasdaq Composite Index increased 239.28 points, or 2.21 percent, to 11,054.72 points.
