The United States has announced its approval of the sale of 24 C-130 US military transport aircraft to Australia.
A statement issued by the US Department of Defense Cooperation Agency stated that the value of the deal with related equipment is estimated at $6.35 billion.
The agency sent a notification to Congress, which confirmed, in consultation with the Army’s staff, that the deal would not negatively affect the combat readiness of the US Army.
The deal was approved after legal clearances were obtained by the State Department, the Department of Defense, and the US Army Staff, and sent to the White House for approval.
