The Central Bank of Jordan confirmed that the remittances of Jordanian workers abroad rose by 5 percent on a monthly basis, while the rise of 2.3 percent to the end of May this year.
The central bank said in a statement on Monday that the preliminary data indicate that the total remittances of workers abroad increased by 5 percent in May to reach 330.3 million dollars (234.2 million dinars), compared with 314.6 million dollars for the same month of 2018.
The total remittances of Jordanians working at 3.2 percent for the period from January to May of this year rose to 1.5 billion dollars, compared with 1.665 million dollars for the corresponding period of 2018.
