ADNOC organizes partnership and business forum with Japanese companies in Tokyo

The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and the Japanese companies’ partnership and business forum were held in Tokyo today under the auspices of ADNOC and the Japan Center for Cooperation with the Middle East.
The forum was attended by Khalid Omran Al Amri, UAE Ambassador to Tokyo, a number of ADNOC officials, the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, as well as representatives of a number of Japanese companies.
The forum discussed strengthening ADNOC’s relations with Japanese companies, ways to expand the horizons of trade cooperation, and highlighted opportunities to benefit from Japan’s expertise in the fields of advanced technology and artificial intelligence and ways to enhance the participation of Japanese companies in supporting ADNOC’s plans to expand and develop its business in all areas and stages of the oil and gas sector.
The seminar was opened by Seiji Hirota, Executive Director of the Japan Center for Cooperation with the Middle East, in the presence of Ryohei Tamura, Director of the Middle East and Africa Division of the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
In his speech during the forum, Ambassador Khalid Omran reviewed the close historical and distinguished relations between the UAE and Japan in the economic and trade fields, noting the great importance the UAE attaches to its strategic partnership with Japan in the energy sector, which contributed to the strengthening of economic ties between the two countries. These relationships are developed through partnerships and joint investments with Japanese companies.
Rashed Saud Al Shamsi, Chairman of ADNOC’s Business and Commercial Support Department, stressed the forum’s role in consolidating the strong historical ties between the UAE and Japan, noting ADNOC’s keenness to develop cooperation relations with oil and gas companies and various Japanese institutions to ensure the benefit of growth opportunities in ADNOC. Al Shamsi explained that ADNOC is witnessing a qualitative leap across the group focusing on building partnerships and joint investments to maximize the value of its business in various stages and areas of the oil and gas sector, pointing out that this forum provides an important opportunity for Japanese companies to learn about the various areas of cooperation with ADNOC.
Al Shamsi said that ADNOC aims to spend billions of dollars on local goods and services related to the implementation of expansion projects and plans over the next five years, calling on Japanese companies to take advantage of these opportunities and contribute to support ADNOC plans to expand and develop its business.
Representatives of ADNOC presented a presentation titled “Future Opportunities in ADNOC in the Next Five Years”, in which they reviewed basic information about the current and future production volume and marketing and expansion plans implemented by ADNOC through the huge investment budget for the next five years, which aims to bring production to 5 million barrels per day.
