“World Health”: “Covid 19” is under control … and 3 elements for optimal dealing with the pandemic

Abu Dhabi, January 11, The World Health Organization (WHO) has identified three basic elements for dealing with the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, which is entering its fourth year, which are knowledge and exchange of available information, continued monitoring and investigation operations, and being responsible and aware.
In the words of its regional director for Europe, Dr. Hans Henry Kluge, the organization ruled out the impact of the rise in cases recorded in China or other countries on the global epidemiological situation.
She stressed the need to harness science and adhere to the principle of information exchange, pointing to the need to provide detailed and regular information, especially on epidemiology and local variables, to better ensure the development of the situation.
On the other hand, the organization stressed the importance of maintaining systems for monitoring the epidemiological situation and monitoring cases of infection, stressing the importance of immediate readings of the epidemiological situation in mitigating the impact of the increasing cases on the health sector and health systems, which believe that they cannot bear more pressure after three long years of the pandemic. Many countries are grappling with overstretched health systems, shortages of essential medicines and an overstretched health workforce.
She added, “The world’s experience with the pandemic qualifies us to be able to anticipate, detect, and respond in a timely manner… not only to SARS-CoV-2, which causes COVID-19, but also to any emerging health threat.”
The organization stressed the principle of responsibility in facing any developments in the pandemic, noting that the responsibility lies with medical authorities and individuals alike, and the general public alike.
She said, “With the entry of the new year, we must redouble efforts with the aim of implementing proven effective strategies and avoiding complacency, and this means urgently reinvesting in enhanced genetic and viral surveillance, re-commitment to it, and investing in and protecting the health workforce.”
The organization concluded by emphasizing five factors that contributed to the stabilization of the pandemic, namely: high levels of vaccination among the population, booster doses, encouraging the wearing of masks in closed places and on public transportation, and ventilation of crowded and public places such as schools, restaurants, open offices and public transportation, in addition to providing early treatments. And appropriate for patients at risk of serious illness.. Emphasizing that these measures can also reduce the impact of other respiratory infections.
