“Roads and Transport” is preparing for the Expo 2020 Dubai Metro stations new smart vehicles

Preparations for the Dubai Expo 2020 have started from the very first time the UAE was announced, with plans to strengthen the region’s infrastructure through projects worth around AED 25 billion in preparation for the event.

All the institutions have cooperated for this purpose, while RTA has launched a number of development projects in preparation for hosting the exhibition.

Project “Path 2020”

To extend the red line of the Dubai Metro from the Nakheel Harbor and Tower to the Expo 2020 site with a length of 15 km, 11 km above the ground level and 4 km below the ground level. The project includes the implementation of seven stations, A station in the Expo site, three high stations and two underground stations, and the supply of 50 trains.

The route is also linked to a number of vital projects and sites with high population density, with a population of 270,000, such as Gardens, Discovery Gardens, Al Furjan, Jumeirah Golf Estates and Dubai Investments Park.

The “Track 2020” project embodies the strategic objectives of the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), which include developing an integrated and balanced transport system that serves all segments of society.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is also working on the implementation of new traffic junctions including:

The center of the “Allais” and the intersections located on it and the development of Jebel Ali Habbab road and the expansion of the last part of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and the axis of the University City Street. The Authority is also working on the development of some of the class intersections on the roads surrounding the exhibition site and the establishment of parking spaces with a capacity of 44 thousand cars to serve visitors to the exhibition.

Smart vehicles

Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is working on employing the latest intelligent mobility technologies to be used in Expo 2020, including the Dubai Motor Show, the implementation of special pedestrian paths, the beautification of the surrounding area on the road campus, Seven kilometers and a technical display project to develop the imaging platform near Umm Suqeim Park in Bur Dubai.

Al Mamzar Beach Park, AED 10 billion, Bluewater Island, Dubai Creek, Dubai Water Channel, which opened in November 2016, Dubai Amusement Park and many other projects supporting Expo Dubai 2020.
