Working in Abu Dhabi

People seek many ways to earn a sufficient living and strive to find the best place to achieve their goals.

As  the UAE considered to be one of the most economically stable countries in the world, it has attracted a lot of expats who are looking for the decent life opportunities offered by the country’s competitive environment.

Relatively, the largest segment of the UAE’s workforce comes from India prompted by the close proximity and historical relationship between the UAE and India. Many Indian investors just pack their bags and head to the UAE to start a new life full of opportunities that would secure them to achieve their goals. As for Indians, social roles are crucial and the Indian man would work hard to develop his abilities and provide a decent life to his family; it  is the most important  role in the Indian society.

Occasionally, we read in the papers many stories about the Indians winning lottery prizes at airports and the offers of associations and companies in all the cities of the UAE.

We also read stories about how proud some Indians are of their wealth and that’s because of their reliance on their own capabilities supported by patience, science and perseverance, which found a supportive environment in the UAE economy.

Among those beautiful and inspiring stories that the Indians and us also are proud of is the story of Mr. Panenkonhi Mohieddin, a tenacious and faithful worker who has worked for 40 years in Abu Dhabi and was rewarded with the meeting with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Mohieddin was born in Kanur, Kerala, India,  and came to work in the UAE in 1977. He served in the Crown Prince’s Court in Abu Dhabi during his 40 years in Abu Dhabi. He worked in the media department of the Crown Prince’s Diwan and made a beautiful family of four daughters and one son.

He was able to offer them all the best education. He also managed to build a beautiful house in Kerala for him and his family at retirement and a home to his daughters and their children.

Mohiuddin says that the moment of shaking hands with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, is considered the most valuable moment in his life, and will not be absent from his imagination and his memory ever. “I will never forget that precious moment especially when his highness asked me about my family,” he said.

Some may classify this article as social or propaganda, a misrepresentation and that’s absolutely wrong. The article clearly demonstrates the strength of the UAE’s society and its culture, which qualifies us to be among the best economic societies in the world. The UAE will always be a safe haven for world investments and will continue to provide a promising future.
