Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah receives scientists participating in the “International Workshop on Advanced Materials”

His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, received today, at his palace in Saqr bin Mohammed, a group of scientists, researchers and experts who participated in the fourteenth session of the “International Workshop on Advanced Materials”, which was organized by the “Ras Research Center”. His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi stressed during the meeting that scientific research and the resulting discoveries have a prominent role in promoting the march of human civilization, in addition to being a basic pillar for the improvement of human life throughout the ages.
His Highness said: “Ras Al-Khaimah and the UAE possess the human potential and capabilities that qualify it to play a greater role in the global scientific research process, thanks to the ambitious vision adopted by our country, which aims to build the human being who represents the main engine for bringing about a national scientific and knowledge revolution, and leading our march towards more progress. progress and prosperity.”
His Highness added: “By hosting a group of the most prominent scientists in the world, Ras Al Khaimah seeks to create a scientific movement, and to review opportunities and solutions through which the challenges facing the world in various fields can be faced. There is no doubt that the workshop that Ras Al Khaimah has been hosting for 14 years A great contribution to this vital field, through which we and other efforts hope to build a better future for our peoples and all of humanity.
The delegation of scientists included: Professor Sir Anthony Cheetham, Head of the Ras Al Khaimah Research Center for Advanced Materials, Professor at the Universities of California and the National University of Singapore, Professor Andre Geim, 2010 Nobel Prize Winner in Physics, and Professor Siadong Zhou, member of the Nobel Prize Committee in Chemistry. Professor Gerbrand Seder, an artificial intelligence expert from the University of California, Professor Christine Pearson, a machine learning expert from the University of Berkeley, USA, and Professor Judith Driscoll, University of Cambridge, UK.
The meeting dealt with talking about the most prominent scientific discoveries and their applications in the world, and discussing the role of scientific research in supporting sustainable development in the world, in addition to exploring ways to promote and develop advanced materials fields through academic institutions in Ras Al Khaimah.
