24-hour container clearance campaign at Saudi ports

The Saudi Ports Authority and the Saudi Customs, in coordination with the Taysir Committee, launched the 24-hour container clearing initiative in Saudi ports in order to raise performance and productivity indicators in all Saudi ports in general and contribute to enhancing the investment and commercial environment of the private sector. .
This procedure will allow the delivery of goods in a short time, especially for those who are committed to the Initiative’s requirements, which will contribute to making the Kingdom a global logistics platform.
In order to implement the requirements of the initiative, containers were reduced from 14 to 4 days at seaports, reduced the number of documents required for import from 12 documents to two documents, reduced export documents from 9 documents to two documents, Electronic data and providing pre-clearance services for trucks.
The facilitation committee seeks to improve the performance of the private sector and stimulate it to participate in economic development through the follow-up and implementation of a number of reforms affecting the cross-border trade axis, among others.
The 24-hour container clearing initiative comes within the framework of a series of measures taken recently by Ports in coordination with other government entities to improve the performance of port operations and raise the level of quality, performance and productivity in the Saudi ports and enhance their important role in improving the environment of the national economy and global trade movement.
