Dubai is ranked 6th globally in the 2024 World Cities Index

October 3

Dubai maintained its leadership in the Middle East and North Africa region, while occupying sixth place globally, in the latest report of the “Best Cities in the World” index, which is issued annually by the Canadian company “Resonance Consultancy” for studies and research related to cities and tourist destinations around the world. According to the results of the “Best Cities in the World for the Year 2024” index, which was recently issued by the company, and through which it monitors the best cities in the world in terms of performance, Dubai maintained the same regional ranking that it achieved in last year’s edition of the index.

London, Paris, and New York retained the top three positions on the index for the third year in a row, and Tokyo maintained fourth place for the second year in a row, while fifth place this year went to Singapore. The company stated in its report that Dubai is famous for its unusual urban projects, such as the “Palm Jumeirah” island, which in turn includes the “Atlantis, The Palm” hotel, and “Burj Khalifa”, the tallest building in the world.

Resonance Consultancy said: “Over the past years, Dubai has made breaking world records a hobby, as it always has the highest, longest, fastest, largest, and so on.”

Dubai outperformed San Francisco, Barcelona, Amsterdam, and Seoul, which ranked seventh to tenth, respectively.

The report explained that it is no wonder that Dubai ranks eighth in the world in the sub-index of “attractive tourist destinations” within the main index, as it is full of an endless number of diverse tourist destinations, including shopping malls, huge aquariums, indoor ski resorts, and fountains. Dancers, theme parks, water games, and many family-friendly resorts.

The report indicated that the emirate is prepared to receive visitors and meets their needs for hotel rooms, the number of which is expected to exceed other cities such as London and New York. This indicates, according to the report, that the hospitality sector in Dubai is strongly prepared.

The report concluded its talk about Dubai by noting that its focus is currently on the “Dubai Urban Plan 2040,” which aims to provide the city’s residents with the ability to reach 80% of their daily needs and destinations within just 20 minutes, either on foot or on bicycles, which enhances Their belonging to this global city
