The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, met with Chairman of the Board of Directors of DP World, Mr. Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, on the sidelines of the International Conference of Ports 2018 organized by the International Association of Ports and Ports in Baku.
The meeting touched on the joint projects in the fields of logistics and free zones, notably the agreement signed between DP World and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the port of Baku in September 2016 on the establishment of the free trade zone “Aliyat” in the Republic of Azerbaijan to be a future center for business and part of a network of The planned economic zones in the country are linked with the Eurasian Trade Corridor and put Azerbaijan at the crossroads of a number of major transport routes in the one-way belt.
President Aliyev valued his country’s relations with the UAE and praised its development in all fields.
