Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADSM) and Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADSM) participated in the 3rd edition of the Global Investor Week, where Dr. Obaid Al Zaabi, CEO of the Authority, and Khalifa Al Mansoori, Acting CEO of ADX The Authority and market officials announced the launch of the initiative after the bell ringing, while educational publications were distributed focusing on the rights of investors.
The event, which is jointly organized by several international financial markets, aims to emphasize the role of financial knowledge in enhancing the financial stability of individuals and raising the cultural level in this area, which contributes to enhance communication and provide more services to investors and to identify initiatives taken to develop investment awareness, such as workshops The specialized work organized by the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, which aims to raise the awareness of citizens and residents in the culture of saving, investing in the securities sector and safeguarding their rights.
Dr. Obaid Al Zaabi, Chief Executive Officer of the Securities and Commodities Authority, said that the World Investor Week 2019 “is characterized by a number of activities and participation launched by the Authority in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, Dubai Financial Market and the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange, in response to the initiative of the International Organization of Securities Commissions / IOSCO.
He added that the activities of the week included a program full of diverse activities directed to various social and professional groups and segments, in order to develop awareness among investors and enhance their investment culture so that they can maintain investments and exercise their rights. The program sought to open new channels of communication with investors, and employ social networks for this purpose. Providing investor-focused services, investor awareness competitions, workshops and seminars, in conjunction with events and initiatives taking place in over 80 financial markets around the world .
Dr dr. Al Zaabi pointed out that the Authority’s activities in the Investor Week this year include holding open meetings by the CEO of the Authority and the managers of departments with investors in each financial market separately in order to get acquainted with their views and respond to their inquiries, and to acquaint the largest number of those interested in the rules and regulations governing transactions in the market. The Authority has launched the “National Project for Investment Awareness and Financial Inclusion” to inform investors of the key role played by financial markets in financing the economy. His Excellency Khalifa Salem Al Mansouri, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, said that raising the level of investor culture positively affects the process of expansion and growth in the financial markets. His Excellency Khalifa Al Mansouri added: “The Annual Global Investor Week 2019 reflects the success of the International Organization of Securities Commissions in contributing to enhancing the protection of investors globally and enhancing their confidence in the safety of securities markets. In addition, the objectives of this initiative are in line with the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange Financial knowledge of individuals and raising their awareness of the performance of financial markets in addition to educating and protecting investors. He said that the market intends to coordinate with the Authority to organize a series of activities focused on information and services related to investors and designed to raise the level of awareness of investor education programs while highlighting the various initiatives in the field of enhancing the financial knowledge of individuals while the Authority and in cooperation with the financial markets in the country – throughout the week. – Organizing the awareness campaign that was announced by the ringing of the trading bell from the DFM Hall, followed by open interviews with investors.
The Authority also launched a daily awareness contest for its followers on social media sites, in addition to intensifying the publication of daily awareness clauses and messages in newspapers and social networks, while two awareness workshops will be organized for the first category of youth entitled “Youth Future of Securities” and the second on “Investor Rights”.
