Opened the way to license two new companies to market oil derivatives in Jordan

The Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has opened the way to give interest to the licensing of two new companies to market oil derivatives in the Kingdom to complement the government’s policy of restructuring the oil sector and opening it to competition.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Hala Zwati, affirmed that the decision is a continuation of the program of restructuring the oil sector and opening it to competition after three marketing companies were previously licensed (Jordan Modern Oils and Fuel Services Company, Jordan Petroleum Marketing Company and Total Jordan) In the Kingdom as of the beginning of May 2013.
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources granted the three licensed marketing companies an exclusive period of three years from the date of starting the work. During this period, the government committed not to license new marketing companies. The period of exclusivity expired from the beginning of May 2016. The government has the right to license new marketing companies.
