Last week, the UAE witnessed an important international event in the third session of the Global Halal Industry Platform, which hosted more than 300 officials and experts in the Halal industry around the world, in conjunction with the Gulf Food Fair “Gulfood 2018”.
“The UAE has adopted more open policies in this field, and the concept of the Halal industry has expanded in recent years to go beyond the food and beverage sector to other sectors such as textiles, cosmetics, medicines and supplements,” said Abdulla Al Meini, Director General of the Emirates Standards and Metrology Authority. Food.
The third phase of the platform witnessed the development of a variety of discussion topics, including the first discussion sessions on the role of banks in enabling innovation in the Halal industry, and the role of media in transferring knowledge to The public in the Halal industry and listen to the experiences of the most prominent officials of the banking and financial sector in this regard.
For her part, Dr. Rehab Al Ameri, Director of National Accreditation at the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology said that the Halal industry represents one of the most important axes in this vital sector. The global market for halal products trade is growing by more than $ 2.3 trillion, And the State has taken the lead in launching and implementing the first Halal system of its kind worldwide based on international standards and practices in the field of accreditation, certification and evaluation of facilities.
