United Arab Emirates to Participate in the 2018 Global Partnership Summit in India

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will take part in the Global Partnership Summit in India, which will last until February 26 in Andhra Pradesh, at the invitation of the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The 24th World Summit will be a global forum for discussions that will discuss global partnerships on how best to cooperate between emerging and developing economies to build bridges of partnership to achieve balanced and equitable growth as well as unify policies to address global challenges.

The participation of the UAE in this international forum comes in light of the growing economic, trade and investment relations between the UAE and India, which are growing in line with the strong historical relations between the two sides and at various levels.

The UAE delegation includes representatives from ADNOC, Emirates Council for Investors Abroad, Source, Expo 2020 Dubai, Dubai South, Dubai Ports, Sharjah Investment Authority, Shurooq Group, Lulu International Group, Sharjah Islamic Bank and IDLP International in addition to other companies.

In terms of trade partnership indices between the two countries, the value of non-oil trade between the UAE and India amounted to about 131.7 billion dirhams in 2016, where the country’s imports from India amounted to 82.9 billion dirhams, while exports to India amounted to about 18 billion dirhams.

Over the past decades, the channels and tracks of partnership have witnessed the signing of many cooperation and partnership agreements at all levels, as well as the similarity of the vision of the two countries in promoting global openness and building bridges of fruitful economic partnership with all countries and blocs.
