2.5 billion dinars of Jordan’s exports to the Arab Trade Zone

Amman, January 28 / The value of Jordanian exports to the countries of the Greater Arab Free Trade Zone until the end of November of last year 2022 increased by 22.6%, or an amount of 2.5 billion dinars, compared to the same period in the year 2021, which amounted to 2 billion dinars.

According to foreign trade data issued by the Department of Statistics in the Kingdom of Jordan, the value of the Kingdom’s imports from the Greater Arab Free Trade Zone countries increased during the 11 months of last year, by 38.1%, to reach 5.4 billion dinars, compared to 3.9 billion dinars for the same period of the year 2021. .
According to statistical data, Jordan’s trade balance deficit with the countries of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area increased during the 11 months of last year to reach about 2.9 billion dinars, compared to 1.9 billion dinars for the same period of 2021.

The Jordanian News Agency stated that Saudi Arabia topped the ladder of Jordanian exports to the countries of the Greater Arab Free Trade Zone during the 11 months of last year, reaching about 768 million dinars, followed by Iraq with about 565 million dinars, then Palestine with about 182 million dinars, and the UAE with about 165 million dinars.
Saudi Arabia also topped the list of countries from which Jordan imports, with a value of about 2.7 billion dinars, followed by the UAE with about 1.5 billion dinars.
Fertilizers, medicines, fresh and chilled fruits and vegetables, salts and skin care products, paints, food preparations, chocolate, furniture and fabrics, in addition to textiles and pesticides are among the most important Jordanian exports to the GAFTA countries.

As for Jordan’s most important imports from the countries of the Greater Arab Free Trade Zone, they are crude oil and its derivatives, ornaments and jewellery, dates, wheat, fish, plates and sheets of plastics, titanium oxide, polyethylene, polystyrene, iron and its articles, furniture, fruit trees, in addition to cheese and honey. and grain.
