20 million passengers at Sharjah Airport by 2027

The Sharjah International Airport Authority (SIA) at Al Majaz Waterfront – part of the UAE Innovation Month – has set up a platform to showcase the Smart Travel initiative and the most innovative initiatives and business developments over the next four years, including the expansion of the passenger terminal which will increase the capacity of Sharjah International Airport to 20 million passengers. In 2027.

Ali Salem Al Madfa, Chairman of TRA, said: “Through our participation, we are introducing the most innovative initiatives and projects being implemented by the TRA, including a Smart Travel Video presentation that will provide an easy and quick travel experience for Sharjah Airport passengers.”
The expansion of Sharjah Airport is an important addition to its value as it serves larger numbers of passengers and contributes to improving and increasing the existing travel options from the emirate as well as promoting economic growth and providing more jobs.
The project is considered an important station for airlines and shipping. The Sharjah International Airport is of great importance because of its distinguished location, strategic location, services and facilities provided to companies based on Sharjah’s position and its vital location on the main lines of navigation and air transport linking the various countries of the world within a few hours.
The expansion of Sharjah International Airport, which is estimated to cost about AED 1.5 billion, will include several facilities and will be expanded in several stages and several projects, including the expansion of the streets to and from the airport, in addition to many facilities that will increase the capabilities of the airport and the development of services significantly
