Abu Dhabi’s foreign trade in non-oil goods reached AED 159.9 billion in 2017, of which AED 13.2 billion was the value of the emirate’s trade in December, which grew by 3.4% compared to the same month of 2016.

Figures from the Abu Dhabi Statistics Center showed that the value of non-oil exports to the emirate reached 22.6 billion dirhams in 2017, while the value of re-exports was 21.7 billion dirhams and 115.5 billion dirhams for imports.

These figures include the trade of non-oil goods that entered through Abu Dhabi’s land, air and sea ports or exited but did not include all the emirate’s trade with the world, especially in the presence of commercial activity through the other outlets of the UAE and does not include Abu Dhabi’s internal trade with the rest of the emirates of the UAE.

The industrial supplies accounted for about 90% of exports during the year 2017, reaching 20.4 billion Dirhams, while the value of exports of non-oil goods in the same period amounted to 955 billion Dirhams and about 826 million Dirhams for exports of consumer goods and the rest was distributed to other goods.

In terms of re-export trade, transport equipment, parts and accessories came in first place with a value of 9.4 billion Dirhams, which constitutes 43.3% of the total of this type of trade, followed by production goods worth 4.5 billion Dirhams, consumer goods worth 4.4 billion Dirhams and industrial supplies worth 1 billion Dirhams.
