22.8 million subscribers in the UAE telecommunications sector by the end of August

The number of subscribers in the UAE’s telecommunications services sector “Mobile, Telephone and Internet” reached 22.8 million subscribers by the end of August 2018.
According to the latest statistics issued by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) today, the number of mobile subscribers reached 19.154 million, while the penetration rate reached 217 lines per 100 inhabitants.
Mobile service is the main source of more than 80% of telecom operators’ revenues, while other revenues come from other services such as data, internet, fixed line and other services.
In terms of Internet service, the total number of subscriptions amounted to 1.360 million subscribers by the end of last August, and registered 99.9% of these subscriptions for broadband Internet service.
