331 billion dirhams of the Central Bank of the UAE’s foreign exchange in June

The Central Bank of UAE’s foreign currency balance rose to AED 331 billion in June 2018, an increase of 1.3% to AED 4.4 billion compared to AED 326.6 billion in May. The bank’s statistics showed that the growth in its foreign currency balance was supported by the increase in bank balances and deposits with banks abroad, which amounted to AED 260.5 billion in June compared to AED 257.2 billion in the previous month. According to the standards of the Central Bank, its assets in foreign currency do not include its reserve and special drawing rights of the International Monetary Fund. Central bank statistics showed that the balance of held-to-maturity securities increased to AED 55.20 billion, while the balance of foreign assets increased from AED 14.2 billion in May to AED 15.4 billion in June.
