36% increase in production capacity in Saudi King Abdullah Port

Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah Port Authority has confirmed that the port’s annual production capacity has increased to 2,301,595 TEU by the end of 2018, an increase of over 36% compared to 2017, thus maintaining the status of the largest container port in the Kingdom. Which the port has managed to handle since the start of operation in the last quarter of 2013, to 7,227,859 standard containers.
The increase in the annual production capacity was mainly due to the increase in the volume of export and import activity by 8% compared to 2017. The port achieved a rise in the volume of transshipment operations to 1,847,569 TEUs by 44% compared to 2017, while the number of vessels received by the port To 911 ships, an increase of 12% compared to 2017 during which he received 820 ships.
The port features state-of-the-art facilities including 18-meter deep berths and the world’s largest and most advanced cranes, using the latest technologies and a 65 ton lifting capacity and handling capacity of 25 containers, enabling the port to serve container vessels Giant now and in the future.
