5 international offers to hold “advisory services” for the Husayn plant project

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has received 5 offers from international companies to hold consultancy services for the Husayn plant project with an independent water product system of 120 million gallons of desalinated water per day using reverse osmosis technology.
It is the first of its kind in Dubai to be implemented by the Independent Water Producers System and is part of its efforts to keep up with the growing demand for water in the emirate. It received offers from the British company Cranmore Partners, Synergy India, Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), said: “The Authority is adopting the Hesyan Desalination Plant in the Independent Water Product System following the great success we have achieved in using the independent power product model in the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Project. Production in 2023 “.
He pointed out that the Authority aims to produce 100 per cent of desalinated water using a combination of renewable energy sources and rely on the use of heat lost by 2030, which will make Dubai exceed the global target for the use of clean energy in desalination. Technical and economic solutions to replace high temperature / MSF / desalination solutions using the latest RO / RO technology and rely on clean and cheap solar energy.
