Staff Lieutenant General (M) Muhammad Hilal Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Zayed Charity Marathon, announced the provision of 40 trips for his lifetime, including costs, to be provided to the participants in the marathon, which will be held in Alexandria on December 23, and his income will be allocated to the benefit of the Ahl Masr Hospital for the treatment of burns and accidents, in addition to the prizes for the race decided by The organizing committee of the marathon, in the amount of 5 million Egyptian pounds, will be distributed according to the distances and categories scheduled for the race.
Al-Kaabi indicated that the prizes for Umrah trips will be drawn among the marathon participants immediately after the end of the race, so that this will be the largest value of the prizes presented in the various versions of the marathon that are held in Abu Dhabi and New York.
Al-Kaabi said: “The marathon is receiving attention at the highest level in the Emirates, as it is proceeding according to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” and follow-up by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, representative of the ruler in the Al Dhafra region, and we as an organizing committee We do not deal with it as a charitable sports race and only, but rather we look at it and work in it as a noble humanitarian act that bears the name of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul in peace”, and confirms the lofty goals for which the UAE works, and calls for it in support of goodness, love and peace. Lieutenant General Muhammad Hilal Al-Kaabi said: “The marathon is being held under the auspices of His Excellency the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, and the Alexandria version will be a comprehensive sports and artistic carnival, as many artistic and social events from the Emirates will be held on its sidelines, and a number of institutions participating in its support such as the Alexandria Governorate and the Ministry of Youth and Sports Egyptian, through their various teams, as well as through Egyptian civil society associations participating in supporting the activity, idea and initiatives of the event.
Regarding the marathon track, he said: “It will be held on a 10-kilometer track, and the accompanying activities and events will be held along the track, as well as at the starting point and closing point in front of Alexandria Sports Stadium (the oldest sports stadium in Africa and the Middle East).
