7 thousand Jordanian families benefit from the decision to install solar energy systems linked to the electrical grid

Jordan’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Hala Zwati, stressed that the decision to install solar energy systems linked to the electricity network of rural Fils serves about 7,000 families benefiting from the National Aid Fund annually.

The importance of this decision is to reduce the burden of monthly electricity bills on poor households and expand the share of beneficiaries of rural fils within and outside the boundaries of regulation associated with electrical networks, adding that the project includes the installation of solar energy systems connected with the electrical network at the expense of rural Fils And the expansion of the beneficiaries of the service of the delivery of electricity at the expense of rural villas, especially after the proportion of beneficiaries of electricity in the Kingdom about 99 percent.

It aims at exploiting the local energy sources in the production of electricity, and helps this group of society to reduce the cost of the energy bill, and strengthens the contribution of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in the efforts to sustain development and promote the principle of takaful.
On the terms of benefiting from the decision, she said that the decision includes families whose monthly consumption rate (300 kWh) and beneficiaries of the National Aid Fund, within the framework of specific instructions and links, and according to the rules and legislation in force in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
