700 million cubic feet of Giza and Fayoum gas fields in Egypt at the end of 2018

 The Egyptian Petroleum Ministry said in a statement yesterday that the British company BP will start production of gas fields “Giza and Fayoum” according to an urgent plan to start production before the end of 2018 at rates ranging between 500-700 million cubic feet per day.
During the Ninth Regular Meeting of the Joint High Committee for the West Nile Delta Gas Project, Eng. Tariq Al-Mulla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Egypt, stressed the importance of concerted efforts among the companies involved in the project and the commitment to implement the time program of the project. Local and directed the continuous review and follow-up business developments and increase the local component of the project.
The meeting also reviewed the position of the Riffan Field Development Project, which is planned to start production at a first production rate of 350 million cubic feet per day through the construction of a new land treatment plant with capacity of 600 million cubic feet per day.
Egypt is seeking to accelerate production from newly discovered fields and aims to stop imports by 2019 and achieve self-sufficiency.
