The Government of Jordan and the United States of America signed the US $ 745.1 million Direct Cash Support Agreement for the Treasury, which is part of USAID’s 2018 US Economic Assistance Program.
The Jordanian Ministry of Planning confirmed that the grant will be invested in support of priority development projects listed in the Jordanian General Budget Law 2018, which will contribute to reducing the deficit of the general budget, expected to transfer the value of this grant to the treasury account before the end of this year.
The total (non-military) economic assistance to Jordan from the United States of America for 2018 amounted to about 1.08 billion US dollars, allocated by the US Congress to Jordan within the United States budget for fiscal year 2018, an increase of about 330 million US dollars from the indicative value of economic assistance received In the memorandum of understanding governing US aid to Jordan.
