The UAE has made a significant leap forward in the UAE Quality Marking System, which contributes to the audit of the quality of food products traded in the markets, whether manufactured locally or imported from abroad.
“The total number of national and international factories with UAE quality mark reached 844 factories at the end of last year,” said Abdullah Al Meini, General Manager of the Emirates Standardization and Metrology Authority (ESMA).
Al-Mu’aini said that the UAE’s quality mark system is witnessing a competition between local, regional and international factories to obtain it. 103 national factories and 78 international factories were registered last year alone, reflecting the keenness of the production lines to adapt their requirements in manufacturing, On their products.
He pointed to the continuous increase in the number of products of the UAE quality mark, which during the past year alone reached 4,000 new products with the mark, which means that the product produced by the factory conforms to the standards adopted in the UAE, which is based on the best international practices in that matter.
The Director General of the “specifications” that the audit of production lines and products that come to consumers in the markets of the country, in line with the objectives of the National Agenda 2021, especially regarding the state to be one of the best countries in the world of entrepreneurship, through the promotion of small and medium enterprises in the private sector , And fostering a culture of entrepreneurship.
Al-Minai referred to the support provided by “specifications” for young citizens of small and medium-sized enterprises, which produce electrical appliances, building materials, electrical cables, food products, natural and bottled drinking water and other economic activities registered with the institutions supporting these projects at the level of Country.
