Abu Dhabi Economic and Customs sign agreement to facilitate cross-border trade

The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADB), represented by the Industrial Development Bureau (ADB), signed a Service Level Agreement with the General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs to adopt and implement the best standards and practices related to the facilitation of cross-border trade for industry inputs from elements and materials that control production processes.
The agreement aims to develop a joint work plan between the Office of Industrial Development and the General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs to cooperate in the development of policies and administrative procedures that contribute to the development of work and the implementation of the initiative to immediately exempt the inputs of industry through the use of electronic Annual Balance System.
The agreement also includes the exchange of information, technical expertise, technical and statistical reports, cooperation and coordination to create a working system that will simplify, facilitate and develop the necessary procedures for obtaining the cross-border trade facilities for the industrial sector and the completion of the electronic link between the two sides.
Under the agreement, the two sides agreed to cooperate and coordinate with regard to the audit and control of the violation cases and take the necessary measures against them in accordance with the procedures followed by the two parties and organize joint training courses and seminars and field visits to serve the purposes and objectives of the Convention.
Rashid bin Lahej Al Mansouri, Director General of the General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs, stressed the keenness of the administration to meet the controls of the cross border facilities for industry inputs, to communicate with the Industrial Development Bureau in this regard and to provide the required reports for industrial input facilities periodically.
