AED 2.268 trillion of conventional bank assets by the end of October

The value of the assets of traditional banks operating in the UAE amounted to approximately AED 2.268 trillion, which constitutes 80% of the total assets of the banking system by the end of October 2018, according to figures issued by the Central Bank of the UAE today in the report of activity activity of banks classified between traditional and Islamic.
Analysis of the activity of traditional banks shows their success by increasing their total assets by 125 billion dirhams during the first ten months of this year.
In terms of Islamic banks, the total assets amounted to 573 billion dirhams, accounting for 20% of the total assets of the banking system in general, which amounted to about 2.841 trillion dirhams by the end of October.
Total loans made by conventional banks amounted to 1.274 trillion dirhams at the end of October 2018, accounting for 77.3% of the total loans provided by the banking system, while the balance of loans of Islamic banks reached 374 billion dirhams, or 22.7%.
In terms of deposits, the value of conventional banks stood at AED 1.321 trillion, which is approximately 77% of the total balance of deposits with the banking system by the end of October.
In contrast, the value of deposits with Islamic banks amounted to about 400 billion dirhams, which constitutes 23% of the total deposits of the banking system in the country in general.
