ADNOC is Aiming to Benefit of Japan’s Expertise in Artificial Intelligence

MediaIn – Tokyo February 2, 2018

ADNOC looked for opportunities to benefit from Japan’s expertise in artificial intelligence and advanced technology, including massive data.

Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of State and CEO of ADNOC, held a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and other government officials and leaders of Japan’s largest companies and institutions during a visit to Tokyo as part of ADNOC’s efforts to expand strategic partnerships. They also discussed creating new investment opportunities in the oil and gas sectors and stages, with a focus on refining, derivatives and petrochemicals.

The meeting discussed ways to strengthen strategic partnerships in various sectors, particularly the energy sector, and reviewed the new ADNOC Strategic Initiatives program, which focuses on expanding partnerships and providing more investment opportunities that will contribute to the implementation of the objectives of its integrated 2030 Smart Growth Strategy.

The demand for petrochemicals and plastics in Asia is expected to increase to more than the double by 2040. To meet this demand, ADNOC is implementing a number of projects and expansions in refining, derivatives and petrochemicals to double its petrochemical production by 2025.

ADNOC intends to allocate at least 40% of its total capital expenditure over the next five years, amounting to $ 109 billion, to achieve its objectives in this field.
