AED 12.4 billion Abu Dhabi non-oil trade in January 2018

The value of non-oil foreign trade to Abu Dhabi in January last 12.4 billion dirhams, according to the latest figures issued by the Abu Dhabi Center for Statistics today.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first in the list of the most emirates with AED 300 million.
The figures showed that the value of exports during the first month of this year increased by 32.9 percent, from 1.52 billion dirhams in January 2017 to 2 billion dirhams in the same month of this year.
The improvement in UAE exports came in contrast to the rationalization of imports which reached AED 8.6 billion compared to AED 12.4 billion in the same period of comparison. The value of re-export trade reached about AED 1.733 billion.
The figures provided by the Statistics Center are limited to the Abu Dhabi trade of non-oil goods that entered through the sea, land and air ports or exited them within a specified period and do not include all the Emirate’s trade with the outside world.
Industrial imports accounted for the largest share of Abu Dhabi’s exports, amounting to 1.87 billion dirhams, accounting for 93.5 percent of the total exports during January. In addition, the value of industrial supplies amounted to 3.6 billion dirhams. In the re-export trade, First-class transport equipment worth AED 992 million.
In terms of trade in re-exports, China topped the list with 286 million dirhams in January, up 34.1 per cent from the same month in 2017. Kuwait followed with 216 million dirhams, Bahrain with 215 million dirhams, AED 191 million.
The largest share of the emirate’s imports in January came from the United States of America, with a value of 1.1 billion dirhams followed by Saudi Arabia with 888 million dirhams, Japan with 877 million dirhams, China with 574 million dirhams and Germany with 550 million dirhams.
