Aldar Properties raises foreign ownership to 49% of capital

Aldar Real Estate Company (Aldar) has announced that it will raise the maximum allowed to own foreign capital from 40% to 49% after completing all regulatory procedures.
The company’s disclosure of this decision, which was published on the Abu Dhabi Securities Market after the approval of the shareholders of this increase during the meeting of the General Assembly of the company for 2018, which was held on 21 March.
“Our active involvement with international investors has been a major focus of the company over the past years,” said Talal Al-Thiabi, Chief Executive Officer of Aldar, referring to the company’s growth in international contributions over the past period.
He added that with this in mind, the increase in the maximum allowed foreign ownership in the company’s capital will contribute to 49% in support of international contributions, as well as providing greater liquidity in equities as we prepare to implement our strategy for growth in Abu Dhabi and beyond
