Austria and the Chinese government have signed several memorandums of understanding to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields, including economic and cultural cooperation, scientific research and enhanced cooperation between Austrian and Chinese companies through the Third Party Agreement, which allows Austrian companies to participate in projects implemented by China in Africa, Asia and Central Europe Eastern and Balkan regions.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the agency and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China to issue Austrian government bonds in Chinese currency “yuan”, to be sold on the bond market in China, said Christian Shreis, a spokesman for the Austrian Federal Finance Agency.
