Cabinet adopts new decision to support infrastructure development projects

The Council of Ministers adopted a decision to cancel the one-day permit fees for the passage of heavy vehicles in the country in order to reduce the costs incurred in the budgets of development projects in the State and to support the growth of infrastructure development projects in various vital sectors in order to provide sustainable development and high quality of life for citizens and residents of the State.
The decision comes in line with the urban and economic development witnessed by the country and the growth of development and quality projects in various sectors, which require the transfer of quantities of construction materials to work sites in different emirates of the state and through different methods, especially as the costs of construction materials and transport represent the bulk of the budget of these projects and directly linked to the completion dates Projects and their quality.
It is expected that the cancellation of the one-day heavy traffic permit fee, which was mentioned in item 82 of the fees table in Resolution No. 30 of 2017, on the regulation of traffic and traffic services and traffic safety, will achieve a great benefit and provide in the general budget an estimated rate of 5% of the budget value upgrading the infrastructure.
