The central bank’s foreign currency balance jumps to 339.8 billion dirhams

 The Central Bank of UAE (CBE) jumped from AED 339.8 billion in February to 4.2 billion dirhams, an increase of 13.8 billion dirhams compared to 326 billion dirhams in January.
The value of bank balances and deposits with banks abroad since the beginning of the year rose from AED 254.91 billion in January to AED 266.530 billion in February, an increase of 11.62 billion dirhams, according to statistics released by the Central Bank.
According to the Central Bank’s criteria, the balance of foreign assets does not include the IMF’s reserve and special drawing rights.
In terms of the monetary aggregates of the banking system in general, liquidity rose by a total of 5.3 billion dirhams in February, which increased its cumulative balance to 1.486.3 trillion dirhams compared to 1.481 trillion dirhams. The value of government deposits reached 201.4 billion dirhams last February The value of bank deposits amounted to AED 439.7 billion and cash deposits of AED 775.2 billion.
Cash from AED 83.2 billion in February rose to 84.2 billion at the end of February, while the balance of cash in circulation at the public (outside banks) rose from 68.3 billion dirhams to 70 billion dirhams during the same monitoring period, according to central bank statistics.
In terms of the movement of the developments of the monetary base, the value increased from AED 358.1 billion in January to AED 363.8 billion at the end of February, including AED 128.3 billion for certificates of deposit, AED 123.5 billion for banks’ reserve balance and AED 84.2 billion for cash, The balance of current accounts of banks at the Central Bank to 27.8 billion dirhams in the same period of monitoring
