China’s bank assets stood at 253.4 trillion yuan ($ 37 trillion) by the end of July, according to data from the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, up 7.5 percent year-on-year. The data showed that lenders’ commitments to the end of last month rose by 7.1 percent to 233.8 trillion yuan, while the total assets of the top five banks in China – China Industrial and Commercial Bank, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China, China Construction Bank and Bank of Communications – totaled 90.4 trillion yuan, Of the total assets of the sector.
