Dubai International Airport records 8 million passengers in July

Dubai International Airport (DIA) registered the second most congested month in its history after crossing the 8 million mark in July, according to a monthly traffic report issued by Dubai airports today. The airport had broken the eight million passenger barrier three times in the past year, registering 8.03 million in January, 8.66 million in July and 8.23 ​​million in August. The number of passengers in July, 8 million and 207 thousand and 987 passengers, an increase of 1.8 per cent compared to the number of passengers in July 2017, which was recorded at 8 million and 65 thousand and 789 passengers, so passenger traffic from the beginning of the year so far has reached / 51 million and 947 thousand and 92 passengers / an increase of 1.6 percent compared with the first seven months of 2017, reaching 51 million and 120 thousand and 57 / passengers. On the growth side, Eastern Europe was the fastest growing region in July with 24.4% of passenger traffic. India has retained its position as the market leader with Dubai Airport, with a total of 32,322 passengers. Dubai International Airport recorded a strong growth in freight volume in July to 223,488 tons compared with 213,258 tons in July 2017, an increase of 4.8 per cent.
