2018 The number of Chinese tourists to the UAE will rise steadily in the coming years, especially with the remarkable growth in the number of tourists coming for entertainment and shopping purposes, which is added to businessmen and investors looking for investment opportunities in the UAE, according to a report released by the official Chinese news agency Xinhua. The number of Chinese tourists to countries along the “Belt and Road” initiative is expected to rise to 150 million, while their spending will reach about 200 billion US dollars. The report pointed out that the UAE has become one of the most preferred destinations for Chinese tourists, especially after the step of facilitating Chinese access to the country’s visas and growth of tourism and shopping. He pointed out that the growing tourism industry between China and the UAE opens the door for more opportunities for Sino-Arab cooperation, increasing the cooperation efforts of the two sides and expanding the scope and prospects of such cooperation. The report highlighted a number of aspects of tourism cooperation between the UAE and China in recent years, beginning with the announcement of the establishment of a partnership of “code sharing” between the Chinese airline “Nang Fang” and Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the UAE between the main destinations in Abu Dhabi, Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu, 2016.
