The Capital Market Authority of Saudi Arabia launches electronic Service which discloses the deceased’s Investment Assets.

This service allows the heirs or their legal agent and authorized persons to view the securities and investment accounts belonging to the deceased person through direct contact with the SDC. The system of the financial market and the strengthening of trust and integration with the relevant authorities, will facilitate the disclosure procedures and help the heirs to expedite the completion of the inventory process for the heirs of the deceased.

This service allows the heirs to submit requests for disclosure through the website of the TRA on specific terms, as well as access to the investment data of the deceased at any time.

The heirs of the deceased – all included in the heirs ‘inventory document – or the legal agent of the heirs may avail themselves of the electronic service by submitting a request to the Commission containing a copy of the documents of the heirs’ inventory in PDF format, a copy of the death certificate of the gene in PDF format, If the applicant is an agent, the application must include the number of the Shariah Agency and attach a copy of the Shariah Agency in PDF format. In any event, the applicant must have an “Abashar” account to verify his / her data.

Mr. Bader Al-Ghanim, the undersecretary for legal affairs and implementation, explained that the purpose of this service is to facilitate the mechanism of submitting applications for disclosure of the assets of the deceased and expediting the procedures to deal with these requests. This service will allow the application to be submitted at any time, He pointed out that after receiving the application electronically, the applicant’s information is checked, followed by the response to the applicant according to the information obtained from the Securities Depository Center and the persons authorized by the Authority.

The CMA received requests to inquire about the investment assets of the deceased through the personal presence of the Authority’s headquarters. More than 500 applications were received during 2017, and these figures rose to more than 600 in 2018, 20%.
