Dubai: 18 percent growth in marine licenses in 2018

Dubai Maritime City Authority said that the maritime licensing movement within the local territorial waters has achieved remarkable growth. The licenses of maritime vehicles license increased by 18 percent during 2018 compared to 2017, while the number of maritime licenses of all types increased by 13 percent during the same period.
“This growth is a new achievement that reflects the high confidence placed by Dubai’s maritime community as a safe, renewable, competitive, sustainable and attractive marine environment.
The steady increase over the past year is due to the success of the Marine Authority’s pioneering efforts to upgrade maritime licensing services as an integrated regulatory framework to ensure the integration of maritime safety, safe navigation and operational efficiencies along the coast of Dubai.
