Dubai Economic Community Receives 70 Complaints Daily in 2017

The Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Sector of the Dubai Economic Sector received 25,665 complaints to consumers during 2017 at a rate of 70 per day, along with two thousand and 885 notices, a thousand and 772 inquiries through its call center on 600545555.

These figures reflect the efforts exerted by the Dubai Economic Community to receive consumer complaints and protect their rights and the effective role played by the Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Sector in enhancing transparency between the merchant and the consumer and elevating the commercial status of the emirate as a safe destination for the purchase of residents and tourists.

The Complaints and issues were among different sectors. Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, Chief Executive Officer, Commercial Control and Consumer Protection, said: “Dubai Economic is committed to enhancing the business environment and facilitating the relationship between the merchant and the consumer in accordance with the highest standards of quality and practice.

Lootah added that the Commercial Control and Consumer Protection team is working with accuracy and speed to receive and resolve complaints 24 hours a day, and we are proud today to successfully close 93% of complaints received in 2017 within four working days
