“Dubai Land” is conducting a 100% survey of all plots of land outside the scope of freehold ownership

Media In – Dubai – January 23, 2018

Dubai Land Department recently announced that it has completed the first phase of the building classification project, which was launched in 2015 as an initiative from the Dubai Land, with the aim of limiting real estate in the old areas (other than freehold).
The survey showed that 79,280 plots of land are currently located in the non-freehold areas. There are 69,982 plots of land distributed in various freehold areas, for a total of 149,262 pieces. The project managers were able to conduct a full 100% survey of land plots outside the freehold area.
Sultan Butti Bin Mujrin, General Manager, Dubai Land Department, said: “The project aims to enhance the transparency of real estate transactions by ensuring the accuracy of the data that serve real estate clients whether they are government institutions or the private sector.

The project helps Dubai to enhance its vision of trust, happiness and innovation. It will benefit all parties, including landlords and tenants, and the possibility of modifying the rental calculus to reflect the classification of the building, where the increase in rent is linked to the classification of the building.
