The Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME) records a record open volume of 71.5 contracts

The Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME), the Middle East’s first international futures exchange for energy futures and commodities, today announced a new record of 71,586 open-ended options for Omani crude. The new figure, which is equivalent to about 71.5 million barrels of crude oil, surpasses the previous record of 31,1998 on May 31, 2018, reaching 69,183 contracts. The new index highlights the confidence gained by the DME among traders from around the world as well as the efficiency of crude oil trading from buying and hedging through the most active trading window in the region’s commodity markets
