Dubai Municipality receives 170,000 food shipments in six months

Dubai Municipality received 170,823 food shipments through the emirate’s ports during the first half of this year, while the number of containers imported food 238 thousand and 190 containers. Issam Sharaf, Director of Food Control Department, Food Safety Department, said that the department is following up accurate mechanisms to regulate the control of all foodstuffs continuously in the warehouses of food establishments and commercial companies to ensure that the shipments meet all requirements and controls set by Dubai Municipality in the field of food safety. He pointed out that the number of health export certificates for exported foodstuffs reached 41,250 export certificates, while the number of new food companies registered in the regulatory system reached 1714 new companies.
