Egypt: Partnership with the Islamic Bank was embodied in 258 projects worth $ 11.6 billion

Minister of Planning, Follow-up and Administrative Reform Dr. Hala Al-Saeed expressed her country’s pride in the development partnership with the Islamic Bank Group over the past four and a half decades, which has so far financed 258 projects worth $ 11.64 billion.
In her speech, which was published in Cairo today during the 44th session of the annual Board of Governors meeting hosted by Morocco as Egypt’s Governor, Al-Saeed said that the partnership with the Islamic Bank was carried out through 190 completed projects and 60 ongoing projects worth $ 2.75 billion The most important sectors of which are energy, infrastructure, industry, finance, agriculture, health and education.
She pointed to the desire of cooperation between the two sides and its continuation through the implementation of the strategic cooperation agreement between Egypt and the Islamic Development Bank for the period from 2019 to 2021, which was signed in Cairo last October, which included funding about $ 3 billion for a number of projects in several areas In particular in the fields of energy and infrastructure, pointing out that the two sides signed in October also the agreement to establish a regional headquarters of the Islamic Development Bank Group in Cairo.
