Europe imports more US natural gas

The European Union (EU) decided today to increase its import of US LNG, according to the European Commission in Brussels. The European Commission will import more liquefied natural gas from the United States to diversify and make energy more secure, the commission said. “The EU is ready to facilitate the increase in LNG imports from the United States,” European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said in a statement. “The increasing exports of liquefied natural gas from the United States, if priced at competitive prices, play an increasing and strategic role in supply Gas in the EU; but the United States should play its part in getting rid of restrictions on the export of liquefied natural gas, where both sides can gain by working together in energy. The Euro-American Joint Action Group to Encourage Trade took place last week in Brussels to take further measures and steps to avoid a trade war between the two sides of the Atlantic. European countries also decided to increase the volume of their imports from a number of US agricultural products
