Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy for Foreign Trade and Industry, said during his keynote address that the UAE and Asia have a long history of bilateral trade relations. Asian markets account for 60% of the UAE’s non-oil trade, and 55% UAE imports come from Asia. For example, the strategic location of the country and its business-promoting environment play an important role in China’s belt and road initiative with 4,000 existing Chinese companies in the UAE.
