The “National Identity” is a number for the investor in Abu Dhabi as of October 14

The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) has adopted the UAE National Identity to issue the numbers of investors for citizens and residents as of October 14 th. Accordingly, the ID number will be the same as the number of the investor approved for its transactions, By the market. The decision of the market in this regard in line with the initiatives launched by the aim of facilitating the investors and automate transactions, according to a circular issued and distributed to all companies related to the work of the market, led by brokerage companies. As part of its initiatives to adopt an identity card in all public transactions, as of October 14, 2018, the investor numbers for the “individual and resident” investor category will be issued according to the new structure based on the UAE national ID number of the investor rather than the current structure. Accordingly, the new private investor number for the UAE ID card holders will be a national ID number of 15, with no change in the mechanism for issuance of investors’ numbers to non-residents and other categories
