The Ninth World Financial Markets Forum discusses major global economic issues

The 9th International Capital Markets Forum, organized by the First Abu Dhabi Bank in cooperation with the Central Bank and the Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development, was launched at the Emirates Palace today under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The region’s premier financial forum, which will be held until 28 February at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, brings together experts from the UAE and the world, and will provide insights on key trends affecting global markets and perspectives on the most important economic issues facing the world. At the moment, the number of attendees is expected to exceed 1,600. During the two days of the conference, participants will communicate with each other, exchange ideas and formulate a financial agenda at the global level.
The first day included a panel discussion on the role of investment institutions in the country and its impact on the current economic environment, with Jean Paul Vellin, Head of Strategic Planning, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, and Eng. Paul Chang, Managing Director, Asset Distribution Division of the China Investment Corporation .
This was followed by a discussion on a number of organizational issues with the participation of Mubarak Rashid Al Mansouri, Governor of the Central Bank of the UAE, Dr. Ahmed Al Khulaifi, Governor of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency, Dr. Mohammad Yousif Al-Hashil, Governor of the Central Bank of Kuwait and HE Tariq Amer, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt.
The Ninth World Financial Markets Forum will also discuss oil, alternative energy sources, opportunities in India, China and leadership
