OTC trading up last week according to report

Kuwait’s over the counter market (OTC) witnessed an increase in trading last week, with 30.7 million shares changing hands.

shares traded went through 15 transactions worth KD 1.8 million (around USD 6.12 million).

OTC report, issued on Sunday, indicated that immediate transactions had a negative performance, with trading reaching 26,2 shares at a value of KD 326,000 (around USD 1.1 million) done through four transactions.

As for private transactions, 30.7 million shares exchanged hands, valued at KD 1.8 (around USD 6.12 million) through 11 trading transactions.

Boursa Kuwait had launched OTC as a new trading platform for those companies that are not listed in the bourse.

OTC transactions are carried out through licensed brokerage offices working under capital markets Authority bylaws and Boursa Kuwait regulations.

The fresh market aims to create a transparent environment by bringing buyers and sellers together using fully supervised mechanisms. The trading platform adopts the clearing and settlement procedures.
